Types of Funds
If you want to make a gift now and see your charitable dollars at work, the Community Foundation offers a range of charitable funds that provide the satisfaction of giving, along with simplified transactions and record-keeping.
You can use your fund to support nonprofit organizations in greater Louisville, Kentucky, or anywhere in the country – all with a single, tax-efficient gift.
|
Donor Advised Fund |
Establish a Donor Advised Fund when it’s financially advantageous and then recommend grants over time to the nonprofit organizations of your choice. A Donor Advised Fund is the most efficient and cost-effective alternative to a private foundation. |
|
Field of Interest Fund |
Support organizations that address the issues you care about most. Choose a cause (or geographic area) close to your heart, and let the Foundation take care of the details when it comes time to make grants from your fund. |
|
Designated Fund |
Ideal if you want to support one or more specific organizations. These organizations will benefit from your fund during your lifetime and beyond. |
|
Scholarship Fund |
Benefit students at a particular school or within a specific field of study. The fund can help students at any level of education based on the criteria you establish. |
|
Unrestricted Fund |
Help address both current and future needs of our community. As needs change, so do our grants – it’s our job to know where your gifts will do the most good, now and in perpetuity. |
|
Nonprofit Agency Endowment Fund |
Nonprofit groups create this type of fund as part of their own fundraising strategy and to help create sustainability for their organizations. |
|
Supporting Organization |
A Supporting Organization is part of the Community Foundation’s organizational structure, but is a separately incorporated foundation with its own board of directors and investment control. Supporting Organizations are ideal for donors looking to promote family involvement and provide a distinct identity. |
